Local Law 55 of 2024 – EV Charging Compliance

New York City's Local Law 55 of 2024 establishes new electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure requirements for certain parking garages. Depending on your project scope and the applicability of the code, compliance may require the installation of Level 2 EV charging stations, EV-capable infrastructure for future expansion, and an evaluation of your building's existing electrical service and distribution capacity.

Local Law 84

Requires owners of buildings larger than 50,000 square feet (or with multiple buildings on the same tax lot that collectively exceed 100,000 square feet) to annually benchmark and report their energy usage to the city

This law requires owners of certain buildings to undergo energy audits and retro-commissioning every ten years to identify energy-saving measures and ensure building systems are operating efficiently.

Local Law 97 - carbon emissions

This law sets strict carbon emission limits for large buildings in NYC, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Affected buildings must meet these targets annually, with penalties for non-compliance. Emission limits are reduced every 5 years.
