New York, NY
Design of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems for this new 24-story, 800-key hotel. The building was originally a residence for young women during WWII, then became an SRO Hotel, and up until recently, was the headquarters for the public television station WNET. Following a three-year renovation, it became the Hudson Hotel at a cost of $125 million dollars.
The hotel includes guestrooms equipped with sound systems built into cupboards, a restaurant, an outdoor courtyard, a gym, cellar-level offices, venue space, Penthouse suites, including one with an over sized terrace, and several bars with each bar being uniquely designed. Bars include, the Lobby bar featuring a light grid on the floor and a ceiling mural, and the Library bar featuring an enormous gas fireplace, billiard tables and a wall of leather bound books.
