In his role as managing partner, Mr. Schmieder set priorities, establishes policy and promotes the core values of integrity and quality of the firm. With
focus
on the effects that commissioning
have on projects during design Mr. Schmieder developed the firms
standards for
commissioning electrical systems. This includes electrical
commissioning plans, Pre-functional Checklist and Functional
Testing procedures employed by the firms commissioning program. As head of the Electrical Department Ken coordinated the firms' efforts on numerous life-safety system upgrades including hotel fire alarm, communication and sprinkler systems retrofit projects. His extensive experience can most recently be represented by two of New York's premier hotels. The Gramercy Park Hotel and the Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca. Experience not limited to Hotels, Mr. Schmieder engineered prototype schools in New York City, a Computer Science building in New Jersey as well as museums, such as the Hudson River Museum in NY. Industrial clients such as Firmenich, he designed a research laboratory facility; prepared the electrical designs for process facilities and designed the renovation of a an existing high-rise office buildings electrical service distribution and fire alarm systems while the building was occupied. Using his foundation of over 35 years of experience in the lighting and power system design profession, he has been invited as a guest lecturer for many undergraduate architectural student programs. He advises students and speaks on the topic of Introduction to MEP Systems. |
